I just got back from the Stella Díaz Never Gives Up tour. It was a whirlwind of a tour with stops in Houston, Coral Gables, Orlando, and Pittsburgh. Thank you to all the great schools, students, and independent booksellers I met on my trip. Here are just a few pictures! Next stop, D.C. area for a visit at K.W. Barrett Elementary.

Tomorrow is STELLA DÍAZ NEVER GIVES UP book birthday! I’m so excited for this book to be out in the world.
I’m also happy to share that there is now an official STELLA DÍAZ website for the series. There are resources, a pledge, and links to ocean related organizations. Click here to check it out:
That’s right, series!!!! There will be a 3rd & 4th STELLA in ‘21 & ‘22. I’m thrilled that there will be more books in the future.

Global Read Aloud - How To Submit Your Questions! And Teacher Resources
It’s almost #GRA19 time! As promised, here is some information on my weekly videos. Starting Monday September 30th, please submit your #GRAStella questions through my website. That following Monday, I’ll post a video here on my blog where I answer as many of your questions as I can.
When submitting questions, please make sure to include the name of your classroom, students’ names, and #GRAStella as the subject line, too.
I’ll also be selecting at random a winner each week to receive an autographed copy of Stella Díaz Has Something to Say and an advanced copy of my upcoming follow up, Stella Díaz Never Gives Up. Note, I will post videos up to Monday November 4th.

In non book news, I’m happy to share we adopted a dog, Petunia! She’s a Boston Terrier/Chihuahua mix that we rescued. Thank you, Capital Area Rescue Effort! I look forward to many walks and to having a new co-worker in my office.
